About

In a post-fossil fuel world, humanity undergoes a radical transformation, abandoning old transportation norms for a sustainable, nature-centric way of life. Public spaces and transport infrastructure are reclaimed by nature, forging a new era where humans coexist harmoniously with the environment.

Amidst this ecological evolution, teleportation emerges as a green, efficient means of transportation. We follow Julie, a vibrant 9-year-old, and her wise grandmother Martha, 203 years old, as they navigate the repurposed platforms of the former Potsdam HBF. Martha shares tales of the world’s metamorphosis into a realm where all life forms are revered.

Approaching the Teleport-station, Julie and Martha weave customs and anecdotes, offering glimpses into their profound way of life. To foster a bond with the Earth, each person is assigned a tree in their Family Forest at birth, a connection that shapes their sense of community and personal growth.

As the duo steps into the Teleport-station, a painted scene comes to life, depicting the calm meadow surrounding them. Potsdam materializes through one side of the portal, underscoring the beauty and wonder of teleportation.

Teleportation’s flexibility transforms forests into communal hubs, where celebrations and refuge unfold. The visual journey expands beyond words, illustrating the serene marriage of technology and nature.

Through the eyes of Julie and Martha, “Safe Travels” envisions a world where humanity’s reverence for the environment leads to innovation, unity, and a profound connection with the Earth, inviting viewers to imagine a future where respect for nature defines our existence.
